York PA Family Photographer, Royce Images Photography, captured the Markel Family at Nixon Park in Jacobus, PA on a beautiful day in October.
I have known the Markel Family for quite a few years. I remember when Jason and Brooke were dating and became married. Soon to follow was their little bundle of joy, Jackson. They are such a wonderful family that I’ve enjoyed watch grown together.
When Jason contacted me this year about photos, I jumped at the chance. We discussed the vision and purposes of the session through an email consultation and questionnaire. This session was to celebrate Jackson’s birthday as well as show them as a family through natural and candid moments. I gathered my props from the studio and headed out with enthusiasm. When Jackson emerged from the family vehicle he was a bit shy & reserved. That’s ok, as I love to connect with the young ones immediately. They are the most important clients to me most of the time because I like to establish that I’m ok to trust. Once they accept me the session goes much better.
We headed up the vehicle path to an area that was providing a beautiful fall backdrop. Jackson held onto his train for a few photos as his prop. So cute the photos we captured! This young boy has expressions and personality. And I loved chasing him up and down, back and forth. Mom and dad were so great to work with him and me to get some great photos. We then made our way down to the stream had some more fun. It’s obvious in the photos below just how much Jackson and daddy are connected in a fun way and Jackson and mommy are connected in a loving way. No matter what the connection though, Jason and Brooke love this little guy more than the world itself.
We finished our time together with a few quiet moments. However, anyone who knows Jackson realizes the quiet moments are few and far between as this boy is on the move. He exudes energy. Thanks to the Markel family for entrusting me to capture these forever images. I had fun and look forward to our next session together.
