York PA Family Photographer, Royce Images Photography, captured the Miller Family session at John Rudy Park in York County. Such a sweet family!
Amy Miller and I have known each other for quite a few years. I captured Amy & Jeremy’s wedding day a few years ago. We were coworkers at one time And now with the addition of dear Oliver to the family, she has enlisted my help to document special occasions. This hot summer day as we gathered at John Rudy Park was to celebrate Oliver’s 6 month milestone as well as capture the family all together.
It was a humid, hot summers day. Our session was late in the morning, as storms were in the forecast for the afternoon. We moved the session time just in case. We were so glad we did!
When the Miller’s arrived at the meeting area, I couldn’t wait to see how much Oliver had grown. Sure, I see him on Facebook but that’s not in person. He was SO TALL and looking more and more like a little boy and not an infant. I just love seeing them grow! We discussed a few areas to capture great backdrops and headed over to get started.
I was sure to capture the family first, just in case the weather became too much for the little guy. However, he proved to be quite the trooper. So I then began to capture the two brothers together. Scott seems to really adore his little brother and that emotion permeated the photos captured. He was tender and caring with Oliver. Of course the next thing we did was to capture only Oliver. It was his time to shine! He was reserved with his smiles and that’s okay. Sometimes the kiddos just don’t feel like smiling. More concentrated, serious looks are ok too.
We headed for the shade the row of evergreen trees. There is a nice natural path that lends beautifully to the landscape for photos.
We were sure to again capture great smiles and happiness in the family photos. The scenery only looked good because the family was SHINING. What great photos! Then it was brotherly love time again. I could photograph these two all day long. Oliver and Scott really connect. I was glad I could capture that emotion in their photos.
There is something you should know about the Miller family. They are DIEHARD Pittsburgh Steelers. And, of course, they MUST include the Steelers in part of their session. Even for Oliver’s newborn session we incorporated their passion for the team.
