York PA Family Photographer, Royce Images Photography, captured the Baum Family session at John Rudy Park in York County. But only after a huge rain storm!
The first time I worked with the Baum Family was for sweet Makayla’s newborn session last December. She was now just shy of 12 months. My how she has grown into quite the little girl, almost ready to start walking. For this session I was able to meet her older siblings and see her mommy and daddy again.
At the time of the session, York County was taken over by a fast-moving summer thunderstorm. We tried changing locations, however we went back to our original location.
After a delay of about an hour, we convened at the meeting area. Although the storm drenched the area, the sun was back in the sky and it was beginning to dry out around the park. We began our time together with the full family. These kids were great at beautiful smiles as mom and dad looked on. Lalen and Bailey began to negotiate which of them would hold Makayla first for photos. It was obvious to me these sisters adore their little counterpart. I was sure to capture all the kids together, separate, and in pairs. All while bouncing around to keep them laughing at me.
We moved to a nearby area where there is a storage outbuilding. Utilizing the shade of the structure, we captured Alex first. He wanted to be super serious and pose in his own way. What a great thing to display his confidence and decision on how he wanted me to capture him. Next the girls took over the spotlight. And my oh my, did they ever shine just as bright as their brother.
We headed for the shade of nearby trees. With the park as the backdrop, the family photos we captured were stunning.
I was sure to capture Chris and Anne alone. As they also needed some couple photos to round out the family and children portion of the session. As our time was nearing its end, I was sure to capture some of sweet Makayla by herself. Her first birthday was the following month and I wanted her parents to have photos of her for the birthday celebration. Just in time to share with family & friends.
