What a pleasant surprise and a breath of fresh air new teenager Courtney was for me the day of her studio session. She totally ROCKED her birthday session and the photos show why. Such a beautiful and blossoming young woman who poetically unfolded in front of my camera. I couldn’t have asked for anything more rewarding as a photographer.
Courtney arrived with mom and dad on a cold winter afternoon. So glad I had the studio toasty warm. We got to know each other a little while she prepared for her session. Anyone who knows a teenage girl will tell you they definitely make sure hair and makeup are spot on. She was very polished and perfectly prepared in a very short time. I did know how athletic and disciplined she is from her proud mom. Courtney was ready to use the three setups I chose especially for her custom and personalized session with me.
As we worked through the first setup, I just knew what a gem I had in front of me. She was so easy to direct and open to poses. She really started to open like a rose as we moved through the next few setups. And as we approached the end of our session together I was so excited to know I had captured such priceless and forever images. I was disappointed our time went to fast. I downloaded all her photos immediately when I arrived in my office.
For me these images embody a passage for a young woman from being a child into being a teenage. For Courtney these images represent who she is today, who she was, and who she is yet to become. There’s such promise for this young woman. I’m proud to have been chosen as her photographer to document this time in her life. Thank you Courtney, and thank you mom & dad. This is exactly why I love what I do so much.
