York PA Engagement Photographer, Royce Images Photography, captured the engagement session of Joan & Kevin at Codorus Park in Hanover, PA on a beautiful evening in May. What a fabulous couple that had the fortune of a wonderful sunset after a day full of rain.

This Stevie Wonder song is what came to mind as I photographed these two lovebirds recently for their engagement. You’ll be able to see how adorable and sweet Joan & Kevin are in the photos below.
I met Joan & Kevin in February at a local bridal show in which Royce Images Photography was a vendor. We had a consultation after the show and they decided I was the photographer to capture this special time in their lives. YAY! I’m so in love with love, and capturing that love in forever images they can pass down through the generations.
I met Joan & Kevin for their engagement session at the marina of Codorus State Park in Hanover, PA. The acres and acres of beautiful landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for the session photos Joan told me they wanted. The main thing that she wanted were photos as sunset. We did reschedule this session a few times since mother nature didn’t play nice and rained most of the days in May. Even this day started out rainy and only an hour or so before the session did the sun and clouds provide beautiful late day light that was so warm and wonderful.
We began the session at the docks of the marina. The marina offered bright green foliage and calm waters for reflective photos. It also gave us dark texture of the building against the gorgeous colors of their outfits. We moved up the hill to the open field. The sun was lightly masked behind wonderful clouds. This gave us great light and warm tones to the landscape. Wonderfully golden grass beamed nicely as the foreground for the field photos as these lovers gazed at each other before sweetly kissing. We were about to leave this area when we discovered a hidden gem of a path. It was accented beautifully with bright green arching trees. What a gem of a find!
We left this area and moved to the next location by the band shell portion of the park. We walked to the boat launch and worked with the still water. Such wonderful emotion in these photos against the green trees and lake background. We wove our way over to the band shell area and used the texture of the wood and stone. Joan & Kevin were posing perfectly without much guidance as they are naturals at this. We finished the session by the water’s edge to capture the sunset photos Joan longed for. And mother nature gave us quite the show stopping sunset. Our prayers had been answered.
There’s no question that their wedding later this year will be lovely, sentimental and extremely romantic. Congratulations Joan & Kevin!
