Ah. Dear, sweet Oakley. How I love you so! You’ve been such a joy to me as a photographer since the first day I met you at your newborn session. While I am happy to have seen you grow over the past year, it is still bittersweet for me. I’ve enjoyed capturing all your milestones this year. I’m deeply saddened I will not see you as often. Of course I will always be in touch with your mommy to see just how often I can change the time in between. Shhhh… don’t tell her my strategy. I also want to see you and your big sister together, just like I did last year at Christmas time. But for now, let’s discuss your one year milestone session. Boy was it a BLAST!
Oakley is the kind of young boy I always dream about. Seriously! Yes, I’m sure he has his boy moments with mom, dad and his big sister. Kids will be kids, especially the boys. However, each time he has come to see me he has been absolutely PERFECT. No lie. During his newborn session he slept beautifully and allowed my assistant and I to move and position him with hardly any objections. During his six month session he was all smiles. The entire time! I was in heaven. The more he smiled and giggled, the more I swooned with delight. During this day of his one year milestone session he was just as enjoyable. Silly, cute, smiling, and even gave me some seriousness and well as more and more personality. He truly makes my heart sing.
Then came time for the cake smash part of the session. His aunt made his beautiful large cupcake cake. He wasn’t so sure about is at first so mom & dad helped a bit. He did well, even through the small bits of crying.
I really enjoyed our time together this past year. And even though I’m sad to see Oakley’s first year end so quickly, I’m happy he’s the delightful boy he has been for me. Take some time to enjoy a few my favorite photos from his session with me.
