York PA Wedding Photographer, Royce Images Photography, captured the wedding of Rebecca and Brian Descar at Spoutwood Farm in Glen Rock, PA on a beautiful day in September. The day was nothing short of magical.
I remember the hot summer day well when Rebecca contacted me from Colorado to have a consultation over the phone about her upcoming fall wedding. She was prepared with every question she needed to have answered as we discussed the big day. I then met with Brian for his part of the consultation at beautiful Spoutwood Farm in Glen Rock, PA to finalize the details from his perspective. It was a two part process since Rebecca was in Colorado and Brian was in Pennsylvania. I was more than happy to help the couple with the extended consultation process as this was a bit of a different situation with the bride and groom in different states.
The wedding day had arrived! It was a beautiful day in late September, on the doorstep of fall. A crisp morning lead to a nice, warm day for this couple that was to embark on the next chapter in their journey through life. I gathered with the ladies in their quaint and private bungalow where preparations had begun. I captured the beautiful details of Rebecca’s attire outside in the beautiful morning light. As the girls were finishing final touches, I headed over to Brian’s bungalow. He was by himself and very calm. Joking and smiling with me as we looked over his very cool Jerry Garcia tie. It was strewn with blues and greens that matched the beautiful flowers from Foster’s Flowers of the ladies. Very expressive! And the rings, WOW! Custom designed with the same color palette. I loved the uniqueness this couple had chosen for their life.
As the photos progressed with the ladies, then the gentlemen, then the family… my assistant and I worked to make sure Rebecca and Brian did not catch one glimpse of each other as they didn’t want to see each other before the wedding. However… they did want to have a first touch. One of my favorite photographer moments right behind a first look. They had fun and had everyone there belly-laughing as the antics escalated for the first touch. What a fun couple! And then it happened. A visit from a monarch butterfly. This symbol was especially poignant to the couple. Each took their time to visit with the butterfly separately as I captured this moment.
As the processional started, Rebecca became taken over by the emotions. She was calmed by her escort and walked that aisle like she owned it. And Brian was beaming seeing his beloved so beautiful. The ceremony was beautiful, laced with personal touches. And then the fun was to begin! “Let’s Party!” the couple exclaimed.
We made sure to get all the formal photos of the immediate family and the wedding party before I whisked the couple away to some beautiful, serene areas of the farm to capture their bridal portraits. These two couldn’t keep their hands off each other and their smiles were huge and radiant. My favorite photo captured was when Brian dipped Rebecca on the curved stone path under the archway of trees. Fabulous! We had a blast before we entered the reception area.
The first order of business was the toasts before they moved right into the cake. These two wasted no time and started with dessert first as they march to their own beat. LOVE IT! And I loved the way they smashed and crashed that cake into each other. The remnants of that cake stayed with them as they began their first dance. Rebecca burst into karaoke mode and sang to her new husband as they dance to the theme song from Dirty Dancing.
As the day crept into the night, much merriment was underway. The guests feasted on delicious food and greeted the new Mr. & Mrs. on the dance floor. From beginning to end, the wedding of Rebecca & Brian was fabulous.
Wishing the new Mr. & Mrs. Descar a lifetime of happiness and abundant love. May you “live happily ever after.”
